What happens when you make a banana and almond butter sandwich, dip it in dark chocolate, and sprinkle it with almonds for good measure? Magic happens! This is one of my most favorite and simple desserts. Soooo good!
Banana + Almond Butter Sandwich Dipped in Dark Chocolate, makes about 18 sandwiches
3 bananas 1 c. dark chocolate chips 1/8 c. almond butter (raw preferably) 2 tbsp. chopped almonds
Slice bananas and spread a thin layer of almond butter in between. Place on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper, and stick toothpicks in each sandwich. Stick them in the freezer for about 20 minutes to get cool, as raw almond butter tends to be less sticky.
To melt your chocolate chips, place them in a small glass or metal bowl over boiling water (double broiler method), until melted and shimmery. Take sandwiches out of the freezer, and dip in chocolate. Immediately sprinkle with almonds, and stick back in the freezer for about 30+ minutes.
I could go on about the health benefits of all the ingredients, but if you really want to know you can ask. Next step...savor each bite!
