photo 4 Bonjour!  As I mentioned last week, on Saturday we had a fundraising dinner at our house.  The theme was French, and our party was titled, We'll Always Have Paris.  It was so much fun!

Tuesday through Friday of this week, I will be sharing recipes from the dishes that I made.  As we know, lots of French food can be rich, heavy, and absolutely delicious!  While I continued with tradition and used butter, I also made the dishes The Happy Healthy Balance-friendly.  IE: There is a Jen spin to each dish.  Balance is key.

The recipes I'll be sharing are:

  • Asparagus Quiche
  • Spinach & Mushroom Quiche
  • Potato Galette
  • Niçoise Salad

The above photo was our appetizer table.  I served brie, sourdough baguette, quince jam, green grapes, nuts, and a French inspired popcorn.  I kept it fun and simple.  I asked my Mom to bring my favorite appetizer that she makes.  It has smoked salmon, crème fraîche, capers, red onion, and lemon zest, on water crackers. Sooooo good!  Thanks, Mom!

photo 2Below is a goofy picture of me cutting a sourdough baguette.  It came right out of the oven, so I used a towel to help my hand not burn.  Ha!

Our table was very French inspired.  Even the tablecloth has fleur de lis's!  Sneak peek at the food, too!

photo 5Tomorrow I'll be sharing a recipe for Asparagus Quiche.  But for now, I'll leave you with a photo of Greg and I.  Gosh, I love this guy.
