Hello! How's everyone doing today? I was thinking the other day about how often I eat, and thought I would ask all of you how regularly you eat. Do you at three meals a day? Five small meals? Do you tend to graze? What are your eating habits?Just like our minds are individualized, so are our bodies. Therefore, we may require different eating patterns than others. Personally, I feel best when I eat three small meals and two to three snacks/tiny meals per day. Snacks are my best friend! Ha! Seriously though, when life is busy and I just don't have a ton of time to prepare a meal, healthy snacks are what get me through.
I have a running list of my favorite snacks, so I thought I would start a feature called Simple Snacks. I will periodically post snack ideas that are not only simple to make, but also have simple ingredients. Sound good? I would LOVE any questions or ideas that would like me to write and share my thoughts on, too!
For the first Simple Snack feature I am sharing my #1 favorite snack/small meal. I say small meal, because sometimes I will have it along side a little something else, too.
Spicy Avocado Rice Cake, serves 1
1 brown rice cake (TJ's is my fave) 2 tbsp. avocado, mashed Sprinkle of dried crushed red chili pepper Sprinkle of you favorite salt (I like pink Himalayan)
Simply spread mashed avocado on top of rice cake, and sprinkle with chili peppers and salt. Note: remember to breathe as you devour this yummy snack! Enjoy!
