WEEKEND RECAP #12

Happy Monday!  Did everyone have a great weekend?  I did lots of cleaning as well as taking down the Christmas decorations, but for the most part my weekend was quite relaxing.  Today's Weekend Recap is filled with photos.  Hope you enjoy! photo 1Although I didn't write this as one of my intentions for 2015, I do have a goal of using my "special" things.  You know, the nice dishes, the pretty candles, etc.  In this case it is the wine glass above.  My Mom gave me a set years ago for my 21st birthday, and Friday was the first time I used them.  How silly, right?  They are such pretty, intricate stemware, and I am so glad I used them!  Plus, it really felt like my wine tasted better out of them.  Or maybe it was enjoying it with my family?  Ha!

photo 1Breakfast on Saturday morning consisted of fresh carrot & celery juice, as well as my ol' standby, spicy avocado toast (similar to this Simple Snack).  So delicious!

photo 5After breakfast we ran a few errands, which included picking up Eat Pretty by Jolene Hart which I have been eyeing for a while, as well as going to TJ's for our weekly grocery shop where we got these beautiful white roses.  Greg is so sweet and treated me to both the book and flowers. Thanks, honey!

IMG_0034-0For lunch on Saturday I made us the most delicious salad.  It had baby spinach, sliced apples, blue cheese crumbles, dried cranberries, tomato, avocado, and a little Goddess dressing.  I paired it with some sourdough-garlic bread.  Seriously, I've never seen Greg and Kanan devour a salad quite as quickly as they did this one .  I'll definitely be making this combo again!

photo 3Saturday evening I made us a vegetarian shepherd's pie (on the blog tomorrow), and had my brother and bestie over.  We chatted, had some wine (in my pretty glasses), went in the hot tub, and watched a zombie movie (which I fell asleep to 20 minutes in).  Excellent Saturday night!

photo 4After church on Sunday my sister (Greg's sister, but I consider her mine), bestie and I had thai food for a girls lunch.  It was sooo nice to have this quality time with them.  Love my girls!

It was a great weekend, with lots of yummy food.   Have a great day, and I'll see you tomorrow for my vegetarian shepherd's pie recipe!
