Hey there, lovely people! How's it going? Today I want to talk about happiness! This morning when I woke up I felt SO happy, and I really didn't have any monumental reason why. Today isn't a holiday, I didn't win the lottery, and my birthday isn't for another week or so (hint-hint, hehe). I just feel genuinely joyful and content. While there isn't a huge event happening, these are a few things I get to enjoy today: the gift of breath, a body that allows me move in ways that are so amazing, running water, a job that is fun and flexible, friends and family that support and care for me, and SO MUCH MORE! How freaking awesome is that?! I have so much to be grateful for, and so much happiness in my life to smile about.
Yesterday, Greg sent me some gorgeous red roses and tulips as a pre-Valentine's day surprise while I was at work. While the flowers are absolutely beautiful, it was the sweet gesture that reminded me of just how important our relationship is, and how much I adore him. That is pure happiness to me.
While on the topic of love, even if you are not in a romantic partnership, that doesn't mean that love is absent. It's so important to remember that we are always in relationship with ourselves. How do you love yourself? Do you treat yourself with kindness and respect? Do you nourish not only your body, but your spirit? While on the topic of self-love, have you read this post? Some things I like to do to show myself love are: cook a delicious and healthy meal (or treat myself by going out), take a relaxing bubble bath, read a light-hearted book, write in my journal, meditate, go for a walk, dance in my living room, and so much more. This brings be so much happiness.
