ST. PADDY'S DAY, REST, + A GREEN SMOOTHIE

Happy St. Patrick's Day, beauties!  Are you all wearing green today, or should I jump through the screen and pinch you?  :)  The quote above is one that my Grandmother always had in her kitchen, and I love it so much. I took the last several days off from blogging to recuperate and heal, and I sure did miss it!  On the bright side, I am on the mend, and I really appreciated and honored the time I took/am still taking to heal my body.  I realized that I hadn't had a cold in almost two years, and it had me contemplating why (not that I'm complaining).  Yes, I eat well, drink lots of water, exercise, get enough sleep, and live an all-around healthy and positive lifestyle, but I don't think that's all there is to it.  Do you?

The busyness of life in general plays a huge part of many of our lives, and sometimes we may feel there isn't anything we can do about it, right?  What got me thinking was how often I just stop what I am doing, pause, and breathe.  I am not boasting about this, but over the years I have learned to just chill.  Easier said than done, yes?  Well, you're right!  It took me so long to just relax, breathe, and hit the pause button.  If I have several things on my plate, and actually notice that I am turning into a big stress-ball, I literally stop what I am doing, close my eyes, breathe, and center myself.  If I am able, I will just lay down and rest.  My friends, REST IS VITAL!  This will not only help keep your mind healthy, but your body, too!  For me, this translates to less sick days, and more play days!  Yay!

So, if ever you feel like you're juggling 17 tennis balls, set them to the side, breathe, and hit the re-set button.  I promise, whatever is supposed to get done, will always get done.  Ahhh...

Now, onto a fun, refreshing green smoothie, that is PERFECT for St. Patrick's Day!

Tropical Green Smoothie, serves 2

1 huge handful of kale, chopped 2 huge handfuls of baby spinach 1 1/2 c. frozen pineapple, chopped 1 1/2. c. almond milk 10 ice cubes 1/8 c. hemp seeds

Simply blend all ingredients together, top with a few more hemp seeds, and enjoy!  Doesn't that look amazing?  Also, it's green, so if you walk around with it, you won't get pinched!  :)
